Appearance
Chow Chow resembles the looks of a bear or a male lion. The most distinctive feature is its blue-black tongue. It has pointed ears and almond shaped eyes. The most common colors of Chows are red, black and cream, but can also come in blue or gray. |

Temperament
Unlike many books that I read before I had my first Chow and now with the experience with 3 Chows, they are extremely obedient and well-mannered. The only negative thing I noticed is as they mature and grow older, they tend to become lazy.

Living Conditions
The Chow Chow will do okay in a medium sized apartment with some light exercise. Sensitive to heat, in hotter countries air conditioning is a must. However, it can live outdoors in cooler places.
